Husband and wife team, Richard and Gill (find out more about us here), offer high quality full board accommodation at their newly renovated farmhouse located in the beautiful Périgord Vert region of the Dordogne.

The perfect riding holiday

We aim to provide the perfect riding holiday.  This could be riding to local places of local interest or trekking across Regional Natural Park of the Périgord Limousin in the Périgord Vert area of the Dordogne.  The rides include trotting and cantering where the terrain is suitable and take place against a backdrop of constantly changing countryside as we wend our way through woods, up and down hill and over numerous small rivers streams endowed with pretty waterfalls.  In addition on Wednesdays which the rest day, we offer a visit to the superb site of the National Stud at Pompadour which is the centre of the horse breeding world in France. We also include, from time to time, additional equestrian activities such as a driving demonstration.  For an example of the week’s itinerary please take a look at Our Holidays page.

Not just riding holidays

Do not worry if your partner or family does not ride we are happy to help organise Alternative Activities or  you can simply to bring them along to chill out.  The farm and the surrounding countryside is very peaceful and they are welcome to simply relax and enjoy the ambiance or alternatively to take a walk and possibly a look at the bison on our neighbour’s farm.  For the more energetic we can provide bicycles and maps of local routes such as the Voie Verte (disussed railway) at Thiviers, suggest restaurants for lunch or provide a picnic to name but a few options.

More than just riding holidays

The Dordogne has a reputation for good food and there are a wealth of lovely products such as chestnuts, beef, mushrooms (ceps), poultry, cheeses, fruit and honey to name just a few, which are available locally and from which to create your meals.  Not forgetting of course our home grown vegetables which are grown with almost no chemicals and using natural fertiliser provided by the horses!
